What is the difference between Netspace business and SOHO plans?
Netspace business plans offer higher Service Level Agreements (SLAs), better peak period performance and extra business-oriented features such as multiple static IP addresses.
Netspace business customers also deal directly with their own account manager, and have their plan tailored specifically to their needs.
What is the difference between Netspace business and corporate plans?
Netspace business broadband is provisioned through the Telstra network and has a maximum speed of 1500k/256k or 512k symmetrical.
Netspace corporate broadband is provisioned through the Nextep network and has a maximum speed of 6000k/640k or 4000k symmetrical.
Corporate broadband offers the highest levels of reliability, and is ideal for bandwidth intensive operations.
Who are Nextep?
Nextep are a premium DSL carrier whose network is faster, more secure and more reliable than other broadband networks.
Netspace has teamed up with Nextep to offer the highest grade DSL products.
I'm outside a Nextep area. Can I get faster broadband?
Yes. Netspace provides alternatives such as wireless broadband and fibre optic services. Contact the Netspace business team for more information.
Can I run my own web or email server on my broadband connection?
Yes. All our business Internet services are available with multiple static IP addresses, allowing your business to operate web, email or VPN servers.
If your business doesn't have in-house servers, you can also turn to us for professionally hosted web and email platforms.
Can Netspace help set up a Virtual Private Network?
Yes. If your business needs help setting up a Virtual Private Network, contact us for advice. If you have more complex requirements, we can also refer you to a networking specialist.
What technical support will I receive?

Can my account be invoiced?
Yes. Business customers receive a tax invoice via regular post within the first 6 days of each calendar month.

What is wireless broadband?
The Netspace Wireless Broadband service is a premium point-to-point connection which operates at super-fast speed and with maximum security. Wireless broadband is another option for high-speed Internet access in areas that DSL is not currently available or for businesses that require higher speeds and reliability than DSL.

What is ADSL broadband?
ADSL is a broadband service which provides fast Internet through your existing telephone line. ADSL stands for Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line, and the service offers an 'always on' high-speed Internet connection for your business.
How fast is broadband?
ADSL broadband is able to reach speeds up to 30 times faster than dial up.
The speed of your connection depends on the line speed you have selected.
Netspace business plans currently offer line speeds of up to 1500k/256k (download speed/upload speed) or 512k symmetrical.
Netspace corporate plans offer line speeds of up to 6000k/640k or 4000k symmetrical.
Netspace wireless plans offer line speeds up to 8000k symmetrical.

Is broadband available in my area?

How long will my broadband application take?
The Netspace broadband connection process usually takes between 5 to 10 business days and less for wireless connections.
Switching from another provider usually takes 3 to 4 business days.
I have my own broadband modem. Can I use it with Netspace?
We provide support for modems listed here.
If your modem is not listed and you need to call Technical Support, our team will provide basic assistance for any type of Broadband Modem, but we can only diagnose issues for supported modems.
I don't use Windows. Can I still get broadband?
Yes. Netspace broadband will work with any operating system that supports the TCP/IP protocol.
Our support staff can help with most Windows (95/98/2000/XP) and Mac OS (8/9/10/X) variants.
I'd like to switch to Netspace. What is churning?
Churning is a process allowing you to quickly and easily move between participating broadband providers, without needing to reconnect your broadband service. Churning to Netspace broadband takes between 3 to 5 working days, usually with a downtime of only 2 to 6 hours.
What are line filters? Can I still use my fax or answering machine?
You can still use any telephone, fax or answering machine with broadband.
A line filter is a small device which separates voice and fax signals from Internet traffic. Once you have broadband, each telephone handset, fax or answering machine in your office will need one.
One line filter is supplied with every modem purchased from Netspace. Additional line filters can be ordered during the joining process.
I have broadband at work. Can I use it to login from home or another location?
No. To use broadband at home you will need to purchase an additional broadband account.
You can, however, take advantage of the free backup dial up account provided to all Netspace business broadband customers to dial in from anywhere in Australia.
Your back up dial-in account and broadband account cannot be connected simultaneously.
What happens if I move office?
Your broadband connection can be moved if your new office is broadband capable, however, there is a small fee charged by our upstream provider.

Can I share a single broadband connection with other computers in the office?
Yes. Exactly how you do this will depend on the size and configuration of your network environment. Netspace business consultants can advise you on the best way to share your broadband connection with all the computers in your office.
I have a business or corporate account. How do I check my download usage?
You can check your download usage using the Netspace usage meter.
How does the usage meter work and when does it reset?
The usage meter counts all data downloaded through your connection except that designated as free traffic.
The meter can take up to 3 hours to register downloads made through your service.
Every month, your usage resets on your ‘anniversary date' – the day of the month on which your broadband account was first enabled.
Does Netspace offer wireless broadband services?
Yes. We offer a range of wireless products to help improve the productivity of your business.

What is the Netspace billing process?
When your business submits a broadband application you will be charged a connection fee. Should your application fail for any reason, this fee will be refunded in full within 7 business days.
Once connected, your business will receive a tax invoice within the first 6 days of each calendar month. Netspace business customers are encouraged to make payments within 14 business days.
What are the payment options?
Payments to Netspace can be made by credit card or direct debit. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Diners' Card and American Express.
What is a static IP address?
All computers on the Internet receive an IP address when they connect.
A static IP address means that each time your business connects to the Internet, you're given the same address. Because your address won't change, you can host web, email and VPN servers.
Why do I need a static IP address?
A static IP address allows your business to run a web server, an email server, a Virtual Private Network, remote access for staff and many other services.
Do I need a static IP address to have a business website?
No. A static IP address gives you the option of hosting your own website, but you may prefer the added reliability of hosting your business site or email with Netspace.
How can I get a static IP address?
All Netspace business, corporate and SOHO customers receive a free static IP address.

What is web hosting?
Web hosting is basically renting space from a hosting provider to serve your business's site on the world wide web.
Netspace offers a raft of hosting options, including state-of-the-art web, email, and domain hosting.
What is virtual hosting?
Very few sites actually need the power of a dedicated server.
Virtual hosting involves using one server to host multiple sites or domains. This reduces the cost of web hosting services, while not compromising the server's connection, hardware and backup regimes.
What is a domain name?
A domain name, such as www.yourcompany.com.au, allows the Internet at large to locate your web site or email service.
When you enter a domain name into your web browser, a domain name server translates it into the IP address of the site, which is then contacted.
