Much of Indian traditional art focuses on the religious more than the artistic. - homage to a god or religion or to shed light on the spiritual world. The religion varies, it could be Buddhism, Jainism, or Hinduism - spiritual expression takes precedence over realism, and religion takes precedence over simple observation.
