There are several types of trips available, Victorian and New South Wales - (Bermagui).
Victoria:
Bass Strait. Fishing for sharks, Leaving from Western Port at Stoney Point, or from Sorrento if heading out through Port phillip heads and the Rip. This is primarily aimed at Mako's, Blue's and Thresher's. Big Bronze Whalers and good Seven Gills are also available from the shoreline right out to sea. As a rule Mako's and Blue's are open ocean fish, everything else is more likely to be found close to shore or within Western Port and Port Phillip Bay.
Wilsons Prom and Port Albert. Shark fishing is also available from these two locations. Bronze Whalers and Threshers are very likely quarry from here with Mako's and Blue's further out.
The Trips Include: Rods, bait, tackle etc. and lunch on full day trips.
Things to Bring: Wet weather clothing, hat, sunglasses, sea sickness tablets, drinks, camera, etc.
Things to Leave Behind: BANANAS:- it is a well known fact amongst fishermen far and wide that bananas bring bad luck to a days catch. Why? I dont know, but thats the superstition. So powerful is this fear that game fishermen are often found hiding bananas on opponents boats to try and achieve the advantage. So please eat all bananas or dispose of them before boarding the vessle. !!! Thanks..................!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New South Wales (Bermagui)
Continental Shelf The shelf as it is often called is some 24km off the coast of Bermagui, situated on the Sapphire Coast of Southern NSW. Sharks of all Big species are a real likelyhood here along with yellow and blue fin tuna, marlin and many other game fish species. This whole area is regarded as the cream of great game fishing world wide, made famous by Game fisherman Zane Grey. Some 8 hours north of Melbourne by car and 1 hour by light plane, 3 day 4 night or 5 day 6 night trips can be arranged.
If you are after BIG TIGERS, MAKOS and WHALERS then this is the place to seriously start looking. Big sharks have been achieved on a moderately common basis, however this type of fishing is not for the feint hearted - you have been warned !!!
12 Mile Reef This reef lies at the start of the great drop off associated with the continental shelf and is home to many very large sharks, that feed upon school tuna and baitfish.
Montague Island. About the same distance to the shelf from Bermagui heading out in a North Easterly direction, this island is the recocnised home of Big Tigers and Whalers. Drifting off the North end of the island with a heavy berly trail, many a good shark has shown itself up the trail. Tigers just love this area, question is are you up to the challange. !!! Fishing deep and set back from the boat with a tuna for bait on 37kg class gear, you get that feeling "You never Know your Luck in a Big Sea". Yelowtail Kingfish are often associated with this Island as are many species of Tuna and Marlin.
It must be said however that it is not everyone desire to catch a huge shark. Most poeple are happy to catch medium sharks. Depending on the charter Wayne can discuss all aspects of fishing with regards to ability and enjoyment. For safety reasons it would not be recommended to chase exceptional game unless the anglers are experienced in this. However most clients fall over backwards with enjoyment just to get out there and hook up to medium size sharks around 150-200kg if they are around. Like all fishing, everything is dependant on weather and local fish availabilty. The difference is often the skippers ability to track and locate good fish through experience and Local Knowledge.
Away trips are:
3 Days - 4 Nights accomodation
5 Days - 6 Nights accomodation - or by special arrangement.
Minimum 6 people Maximum 8 people. Split or Group bookings available.
Not Included
Transport to and from.
Bedding, doona, sheets, pillows etc.
Breakfast and evening meals.
