Wayne is a licenced skipper that runs Sharkmen Charters out of Westernport Bay, fishing either Western Port Bay or Bass Strait. The main species targeted are Bronze Whaler's, Mako's, Blue Sharks, Thresher Shark's and Big Seven Gill sharks.

Seven Gills and Bronzies are often associated within  Western Port itself, whilst the more open Pelagic species such as Mako's Blue's and Threshers are found in open blue water out in Bass Strait. Wayne has also had his fair share of Great Whites swimming up the trail, especially around Phillip Island, renown for its seal colony. Although it is not permitted to fish for Great whites anymore, many a good action shot has been taken with a camera as they swim past, a bonous to any days shark fishing.

Fantastic trips away to Bermagui in NSW can also be arranged

Wayne has a full arsenal of gaffs and tailropes to ensure that your catch is subdued quickly and safely, especially important on over excited makos.

Most Fishing Charters advertised on the Internet in Australia are predominately reef charters that dabble in shark fishing. Most Fibreglass boats will not entertain snapping sharks at the transom, favouring more subdued quarry such as Tuna and Marlin. However even though Sharkmen can chase Tuna and Billfish, they have a love specifically for sharks, its something you either do or dont do. AND THEY DEFINITLY DO. The whole boat is set up for this type of fishing, Wayne will yarn on about those special days when they have caught more than 20 mako's in a day , taking one or two  and releasing most, in line with modern  conservation ethics. This type of fishing is most defintly specialist, safety being the number one concern in order that a full days enjoyment may be had by all.
