GREENLANDER PRO - SEA KAYAK
By PENGUIN COMPOSITES (formerly Penguin Fibreglass) -

Manufacturers of the Tasmanian made Greenlander sea kayak

Penguin Composites have now finished the new mould for the next model of their Greenlander Sea kayak.  The changes that have been made are:

- a more flared bow - to reduce the occurrence of nose-diving down waves

- alterations to the bow and stern to make it easier to turn

- lowering of the stern to bring the rudder lower into the water.

I have taken this kayak on a 4 week trip from Strahan to Hobart where the kayak was exposed to rough conditions and very strong winds.  The Penguin Composites Greenlander Pro was a good sea kayak for extended trips in open waters.

I managed to fit in my camping gear and food for 2 weeks.  I had food flown in to Melaleuca for the second two weeks.  The kayak's foam 'Perception' seat is very comfortable and the hull design is great for using sails with the kayak.

The Greenlander is a good choice for extended sea kayak touring.
