MAATSUYKER CANOE CLUB - WHERE IT ALL STARTED

MINUTES OF THE INAUGURAL MEETING OF THE MAATSUYKER CANOE CLUB
AT THE RESIDENCE OF JOHN WILDE ON APRIL 15TH 1984


1.   PRESENT:   Laurie Ford, John Wilde, Ian McDonald, Jeff Jennings, APOLOGIES - Cecily Butorac, Bruce Davies

2.   General discussion took place on the subject of forming a club that was primarily interested in fostering and developing sea canoeing.  Thus it was agreed that this should be done especially since the Tasmanian Sea Canoeing Club had indicated that it no longer considered itself a sea canoeing club and was probably doing to change its name.

3.   Detailed discussion took place on the club constitution (find enclosed).  A number of amendments were made to the constitution tabled by Laurie Ford.

4.   The following people either volunteered or were elected as office bearers:

        John Wilde, Commodore
        Jeff Jennings, Secretary/Treasurer
        Laurie Ford, Mould Manager, Newsletter Editor, Training Officer

5.   Discussion on the Club's programme for 1984 resulted in the following details being accepted.

June 8 - 10 - Eaglehawk Neck, Safety Cove, Tasman Island (Trip leader - Laurie Ford)
July 28 - 29 - Swan Island (Trip leader - Jeff Jennings)
September 29 - 30 - Corinna to Granville Harbour (return) (Trip leader - Laurie Ford)
November 10 - 11 - Ninth Island (Trip leader - Ian McDonald)
March long weekend - Night paddle to Preservation Island (Trip leader - Laurie Ford)
